MOVING IN: My university experience

27th September, 2014.

Anxiousness. The only word I think that could sum up my feelings right before moving into university. Don't get me wrong, I felt relieved to be moving on the next step in my life and yada yada yada but leaving everything for a strange environment was just not my thing. Do you know what I mean?

Being the last to move out to uni compared to my friends felt like a lifetime away. Everyone was having fun, meeting new people and having their freshers experience while I was stuck at home doing absolutely NOTHING. At the same time though I was getting more anxious as my friends told me their experiences especially those that seemed to have flatmates from hell. But the day came round and I was leaving the nest (temporarily)!

8am in a stuffed to the brim car on the way to uni, all my emotions just started eating away at me . What if my flatmates hate me? What if they think I'm weird? Did I take to much stuff? What if I become a LONER !?

I literally bought my whole house with me (as my mum said), but I didn't think so. I mean what if I needed a top to wear one night I cant be travelling all the way home for just that one top. Or how about a pair of shoes that would go with my outfit perfectly but i've left them at home ?! I just think its better to be prepared than sorry.

Arriving at  uni around 9ish am I went to go collect my key and bam it finally hit me. IM A UNI STUDENT. Boy moving in is one of the hardest things ever to do especially if you have so much things. My uni gave out these little green carts that we could stuff our things into so that it made it a bit easier to move things, they also had freshers angels helping so it wasn't too tiring. One advice I would give is have as many people help out as much as possible mum, dad, sister, brother why not even call your gran?

I hadn't found anyone online before moving in so I literally knew no one. Another tip before moving in is to go on Facebook and find groups that your other potential housemates could have made or check your uni Facebook if anyone has posted anything and just get chatting to them. This would help if you feel really anxious and worried about the people you are going to potentially live with.

But anyways the room I moved in was not bad at all. I just remembered that I would be here more the next few months on my OWN. No mum and no dad. Now that did scare me a little bit, I mean I wanted to be free and stuff but c'mon everything is just easier at home.

Before my parents left they made sure I had a good old shop just to make sure I would end up starving to death. That's another tip make sure to stock up before your parents leave, you never know when you'll get the munchies.

After that my parents dropped me off to my flat one last time. This is when the tsunami waves hit me, and boy it hit me hard. In all honesty I balled when I said goodbye to them, it was like I was leaving them forever (sounds so sappy doesn't it ?). If you just happen to stumble upon this post and have the same feeling when moving to university, just remember your parents are always there and only a phone call away, and remember they probably miss you more. But it's only temporary and your uni experience is going to fly by and your going to wonder how it happened so quickly.

Anyways after that, I knew I had to fix up cause it was time to meet my new flat mates . . .

LONG TIME NO SEE ! small update

It's been time since I've written a blogpost! To be honest I've just been so busy settling with uni and trying to balance my life with family and work. & it's not easy !

Being at uni is so different but it's a good different. Being around new people is refreshing but it makes you appreciate your old friends. Also living with people who were basically strangers was really weird, but like now my flatmates and me are  inseparatable.  Freshers was also something else but thats another blog post I think.

Anyways so this doesn't turn into a ramble, I just wanted to jump back into blogging !

Hope you guys have a good day !

THRILL SEEKERS

As I'm sitting here trying to recover from an illness, I thought I would quickly to a recap of what I got up to with some friends last Wednesday.

I hung out at Thorpe Park with the ever wonderful Lauren and her boyfriend and his friends. All I can say is it was a success even though I did get ill afterwards )): It was also the last time I got to see Lauren as she's moved away to uni today (#soemotional), but hey not to be a debby downer I also made some new friends!

Thorpe Park is basically a theme park with some of the best rides that provides you with a thrill of a lifetime! Personally I love the feeling of adrenaline and getting that rush when you're on the actual ride. But boy do I get so NERVOUS when waiting in the queue, from the heart pumping and sweaty palms!

My favourite rides are Nemesis inferno, Colossus, Swarm and don't forget Rumba Rapids! Anyone have any favourite rides?

We're the 3 best friends anyone could have :L

What am I doing ?

Overall such a good day out with these lovely people :D

I just wanted to say a quick GOODLUCK to Lauren for moving to university ! Miss you already !

Is anyone else a adrenaline junkie or just overall loves theme parks?

PARIS MEMORIES

This summer I managed to do something from my bucket list, I got to go Paris! :D Paris is such an amazing place especially if you love shopping and fashion. Not only that, but day or night the sights are just beautiful. I can definitely say it's one of the best looking places, it doesn't matter if you look down a random street you always get a sight/view that's just stunning!

Just a small backing story, as I mentioned in my 100 facts post I am really impulsive and boy was this trip an impulsive idea. Me and my friend Jess wanted to go on holiday and one day we just decided to go into Thomas Cook and book a trip (the only time I'll mention YOLO), which can I add was really affordable, & I literally regret nothing. Anyway just wanted to post some of these amazing photos that captured some of this breathtaking city.

Random picture, but they had a SEPHORA ! We don't have one here so I basically spent all my money in there ! Could literally live there !

I fell in love with this city <3
I highly recommend giving this place a visit even if it's a couple of days, you won't regret it I assure you!

What adventures did you get up to this summer?

LONG TIME NO SEE

I haven't blogged in AGES ?! I would usually blame it on my laziness but this time I have actual reasons for the lack of posts. Basically, LIFE. Life has got into the way. It's just gotten so busy with making plans about moving to uni, finishing summer jobs and of course hanging out with friends. So I thought I would do a quick recap of whats happened.

In Cambridge there's so many little quirky and unique shops. Me and my friend Jess usually go for the normal Starbucks but this time we felt more adventurous, and we stumbled upon Crepe affaire. If you have one of these near you I highly recommend them ! There's a huge range of things on the menu from savoury or sweet crepes, waffles, milkshakes and all at affordable prices . What more can you ask for! And of course Patisserie Valerie, anything sweet and yummy they probably have it.

Birthdays are one of my favourite things. It basically screams FOOD!
Zizzi's is another place where food gets a definite A+ from me, especially their lasagne al forno. I usually don't get to see my old secondary friends as we go to different colleges, but getting a drink and catching up is always a good idea :D

My friend Natalie's birthday was a total surprise for her. Me, my friend Nirali and Natalie's boyfriend planned out the whole thing without her knowing. We celebrated her birthday with close friends and family. Drinks were flowing all night long along with some music and some shisha. Her boyfriend is truly one of the sweetest guys i've ever met, he literally would do anything for her (talk about relationship goals). Not to also mention my OTP Lauson came :L I was reunited with the beautiful Lauren and her boyfriend Jason (another power couple #LAUSON) who are just the sweetest people ever!

Basically, still not getting sleep from the party, (talk about taking sleep is for the weak seriously), I'm trying to get some blogs up so I can get back into the routine again :)

What have you been up to lately?
Also I think I'm going to try and rock bold lips more often, just need the guts to wear them !
